1) Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information collected automatically, and (c) information from third parties (such as payment providers).
A. Information you provide
You may provide:
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number, mailing address
- Donation details: donation amount, frequency, fund/designation, and donation notes (if you choose to include them)
- Communications: messages you send us (e.g., emails or contact form submissions)
Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information in open text fields (for example, Social Security numbers, bank logins, or medical information).
B. Information collected automatically
When you use the Site, we may automatically collect:
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for basic functionality, security, and analytics
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain Site features.
C. Information from third parties
When you donate online, our providers may send us limited information such as:
- Donation confirmation and metadata: transaction status, transaction ID, date/time, amount, fund/designation, and limited payment method details (e.g., card brand and last four digits)
2) Donations, Payments, and Financial Data (Planning Center, Stripe, and Plaid)
House Chapel uses Planning Center for donation management and giving records. Donations and payments are processed through third-party payment and financial tools, including Stripe and Plaid.
- Planning Center Giving: Facilitates donation forms, donor management, contribution statements, and related giving workflows.
- Stripe: Processes card and bank payments (such as ACH), helps prevent fraud, and may handle payment-related identity verification. Stripe collects and processes payment information according to its own privacy policy. House Chapel does not receive or store full card numbers or full bank account numbers. We typically receive confirmation of payment, donation amount, date/time, and limited payment details (such as last four digits).
- Plaid: If you choose to connect a bank account through our giving experience, Plaid may collect information from your financial institution to enable bank account linking and/or verification. Depending on what you authorize, this may include account identifiers and account-related data needed to complete the connection or verification. House Chapel does not receive your bank login credentials. Plaid processes information according to its own privacy policy.
Your use of these providers is subject to their terms and privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
